As you can probably tell if you’ve been following us for a while (or if you’ve read even one of our posts), we love our vacation rental home business and we love to talk about it! We always want to share our tips, tricks, and ways we like to go the extra mile so that you can get ideas for your own business, or at least know you’ll be well taken care of at our homes. One of the most important things about managing our rentals is the guest experience, and we're always trying to improve, find new ways to elevate your experience and constantly looking for ways we can keep learning more. First impressions are everything, so we want our guests to come in not only to a clean, well-stocked home but to immediately feel really comfortable and truly be excited to spend their time with the home.
First off, we usually have a small gift for you when you walk in. We want you to know right off the bat that we appreciate your business and we’re so excited to be a part of making your vacation memorable. We also have a framed sign with a QR code that you scan for all of the instructions on the home with referrals, local recommendations, and how-tos so everything you need is easily accessible from your phone! We know how having all the information about the ins and outs of the house can make your experience smooth, especially if you are traveling with groups of people! Our rentals are complete with our own little soaps and shower supplies in case you forgot anything you needed while packing. You know if you’re working with Lisa, it’s all about the details. She never misses the mark! We like to make sure that anything you could need is readily available to you but also is something you are excited to use!
And we can’t forget about the most important thing, coffee! All of our properties have a single-use Keurig so you’re never without access to coffee. If you have a lot of people in the home, maybe you want to make a pot of coffee or you could just make a quick single serving for yourself (or you could be making the whole pot for yourself, we’re not here to judge). It might seem like something so small but I promise you, this detail is key!
We also try to keep all of our properties stocked with basic cooking spices, because who thinks (or wants) to bring spices on vacation? If you want to cook your own meals, we have your basic salt and pepper, and a few extras so that you don’t have to worry about your food being bland. Again, we want people to feel super comfortable in their home away from home, and one way we assure that is we make sure it has the stuff that you need, with a few extras, of course!
At Vista Lago, we made a bold move and decided we wanted to create a special moment for our guests. So, we had a beautiful wall done by a local artist for the perfect Instagrammable moment, so you (and your followers) never forget your time with us. It added such a wow factor to the backyard and from then on we decided that was a must-have to create experiences like that with our properties!
Your Vacation Options
You have a variety of vacation options when you stay with us, each named to give you a hint of what’s in store. Deep Creek was easy to name because that’s the street it's on, and it has that fresh-air escape feel to it. When we purchased our next property it was right next door. It gave off such a more cozy and intimate vibe so The Den felt like a great choice. It’s next door to Deep Creek with the same mountain getaway feel but more fun-size and romantic.
Headed just a few hours to the East in Lake Havasu City, Arizona we have Vista Lago which means, ‘view of the lake’, which we think is perfect because we have the best lake views from the top deck! Lake View was something that we came up with and thought Vista Lago was the perfect embodiment of that. And then the newest one, the Clubhouse, we named it because it's on the golf course and we thought that was cool to have a place like a country club to go have a drink, relax, play some games, cook, swim, like your own little Clubhouse!
Creating little names and personas for our properties has been a unique way that we can create a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests that has them experience the properties before they come until the next time they come back to visit! We also love when people take pictures and tag us in their photo memories. It not only reminds us why we do what we do. But, it also shows other guests the unique experiences that we aim to create for our guests!
Communication is Key
Lisa and I are very intentional with our communication with the guests. We have a very good response time, and communication between our staff at the house, and between our guests. With anything from check-in and check-out to recommendations for local restaurants, we just like to be there for you. We try so hard to make your stay as easy as possible, and we want to make that show in every way we can. We understand you never want to go to a home and never hear from the host, you want to connect with them! That way, if you have questions, we’re always eager to answer them because we’re so passionate about our homes and the vacation experience. We always have made our homes places where we want to stay because we use all of our properties too! Sometimes we go there to work or just for vacation, so we want them to be the perfect environment. It's all about the experience, and we understand that you’re paying your hard-earned money to go on vacation and we do not want you to be disappointed. We want you to feel at home and just have the best time!
